Today begins our quilting adventure with an overnight flight from the United States to Munich, Germany. During our evening flight, dinner will be served on-board the plane. D

This morning we will be served a breakfast snack on-board the plane before our arrival into the Munich Airport. Upon arrival, we will collect our luggage, pass through customs and be met by our motor coach driver who will take us to the charming, picturesque town of RUHPOLDING, Bavaria. This ride will take us approximately 3.5 hours, and we will be stopping for a lunch along the way. Upon arrival in Ruhpolding we will check into our charming four-star hotel, the Hotel Zur Post (www.Hotel-Post-Rhupolding.de). We will take a leisurely stroll through this Hansel and Gretel-like village and become acquainted with our local surroundings. Tonight, we will all enjoy a “welcome dinner” at the hotel hosted by the delightful Kathy Blank and a Sew Many Places escort. There will be an opportunity to meet everyone who is participating on our tour and find out more about them and what lies ahead for us during the tour. B, D

This morning, following breakfast, we board our motor coach and drive to Lake Chiemsee, home to the Herrenchiemsee Castle. This castle was built by King Ludwig II, whose intent was to duplicate an exact replica of the Palace of Versailles in France. Unfortunately, funds ran out and he was only able to build the central portion of the castle. Nonetheless, this extraordinary place is quite impressive. There will be an opportunity to enjoy lunch on your own before we will drive back to Ruhpolding in the middle of the afternoon. The evening is free for you to enjoy on your own. B

Following an early breakfast this morning, we will drive to the beautiful city of SALZBURG. We will be met by a local guide who will provide an informative sightseeing tour, which includes Mozart’s birthplace and familiar locations from the movie “The Sound of Music.” There will be time for shopping in many of the special boutique shops, art galleries and Austrian chocolate stores, as you enjoy a leisurely afternoon on your own. We will drive back to Ruhpolding in the early evening and enjoy dinner at our hotel. B, D

This morning, following breakfast, we will pack our luggage and leave RUHPOLDING to travel to ZURICH. We will drive into the central part of the city and enjoy a panoramic tour of ZURICH, which includes the city commercial center, the Old Town, Fraumünster Church with its famous Marc Chagall windows, historical Limmatquai and the University district. Upon arrival in ZURICH we will check into our first-class hotel. We will enjoy dinner is included and will be served at our hotel. The remainder of the night is at your leisure. B, D

Following breakfast this morning, we will visit the Textilmuseum St. Gallen, which is the capital of the textile industry in Switzerland. Among other things, they specialize in producing most of the Paris catwalk evening fabrics and laces. The afternoon will be at your leisure for shopping and sightseeing. We will return to our hotel and dinner is to be enjoyed at your leisure. B

Today following breakfast, we will drive to Trummelbach Falls, which is a fascinating place where a stream of water has cut its way through the hard rock, creating deep crevices and caves, only a few feet wide. A man-made series of tunnels lets visitors access the caves, and see the torrents of water cascading through the confined space. We will then spend the afternoon in the charming town of Lucerne, where you may enjoy shopping or sightseeing. Later in the day we will return back to our hotel to enjoy the evening on your own. B

In the morning, following breakfast, we will travel to the town of STECKBORN, Switzerland, where we will participate in a private tour of the BERNINA FACTORY, the only family-owned machine factory left in business. We will spend the morning together ooing and ahhing over how they make these incredible sewing machines, and having a first hand look at some of the latest ideas they are working on. Lunch will be included in the tour. Later in the day, we will travel to the “Best Preserved Medieval Small Town”, STEIN AM RHEIN. Here you can witness the breathtaking view of Lake Constance, the surrounding area, and on clear days-the Alps. After an adventurous day, we will travel back to our hotel to enjoy dinner. B

Today following breakfast, the day will be at your leisure, to explore the charming town of Zurich or just relax. Later in the evening we will recap our exciting journey at a special “farewell dinner.” B, D

This morning, following breakfast, we will pack our luggage and say goodbye to Zurich, as we drive to the Zurich International Airport for our flight back to the United States. B
