Itinerary:
Thursday, August 12th

We begin our SEW MANY PLACES QUILTAWAY PROGRAM - Amish Quilts and Gardens with your arrival at the charming Essenhaus Inn, centrally located in the town of Middlebury, Indiana. We will gather at 2pm in the lobby of the hotel where we will enjoy the Essenhaus Quilt Show this afternoon. There will be time on your own to marvel at all the special quilts on display. Tonight, we will all enjoy a delicious “Welcome Dinner” at our hotel. The remainder of your evening is at your leisure to enjoy. The town of Middlebury is celebrating their city festival, so you may opt to walk around after dinner and participate in the activities. D

Friday, August 13th

This morning, following breakfast, we will drive to the town of SHIPSHEWANA. We will have a full day to explore this wonderful bustling Amish shopping village, where we will find special boutique shops filled with crafts, homemade fudge, fabric, baked goods, folk art, lace galleries, woodcarvings, glassware and dozens of other unique specialty shops. During our shopping extravaganza, we will be stopping Yoder's Department Store, which has the regions largest selection of quilting supplies. This will be a very special day as we step back in time, from horse drawn carriages rides to talking with local residents in Amish attire. We will return back to our hotel and relax later in the afternoon before having a delicious dinner at our hotel. Tonight we enjoy a special musical by local students.” B, D

Saturday, August 14th

This morning following breakfast, we will board our private motor coach and begin our half day tour of the very special Quilted Gardens. These spectacular flower gardens are located at different homes throughout the area, and each one is designed as a quilt, with bright colors and unique designs. Don’t forget your cameras, these gardens are very special and one of a kind. Next, we will travel to the charming town of GOSHEN to visist The Old Bag Factory where you'll find many gift shops and artisans at work. Look for Dick Lehman Pottery, Swartzendruber Hardwood Furniture, original quilt designs, and several others. Tonight we will enjoy dinner at our hotel, and the remainder of the evening is free for quilting on your own. B, D

Sunday, August 15th

This morning there will be time to enjoy a farewell breakfast together as a group, before checking out of our hotel to go home. During the breakfast, there will be information provided about Sew Many Places tours and cruises and you’ll lean more about future SEW MANY PLACES QUILTAWAY PROGRAMS for 2011 and how you can receive discounts and even travel for free with Sew Many Places. B
